The University of Michigan Depression Center’s Bright Nights™ public forum series gives community members the opportunity to obtain up-to-date information on a variety of topics related to mental illness. The forums are designed to allow for discussion and Q & A between audience members and expert panelists.

This event focuses on Understanding Bipolar Disorder and is led by experts from the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Fund.

Bipolar Disorder can be a devastating illness, for both individuals and families. It is a chronic disease with unstable and unpredictable moods. However, the positive news is that bipolar disorder is treatable, and new research advances are underway. Join us to learn more about the latest research on the causes and treatments for bipolar disorder.

A presentation by Melvin McInnis, M.D., Research Director for the Prechter Fund, with a panel of experts to answer the audience’s questions:
