Support the Bipolar Cell Biology Endowment in Memory of Michael Guz
Brian and Liz Guz have supported the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Fund at the University of Michigan Depression Center since their son Michael’s death in 2009. In addition, Liz Guz established ELLA Designs Jewelry four and a half years ago to increase awareness about bipolar disorder and donates 50% of all proceeds to the Prechter Fund. The Prechter Fund’s mission is to personalize treatments and prevent recurrences so those with bipolar disorder may lead healthy and productive lives.
The research underway is exciting and Brian and Liz support this research because they see it as the best opportunity to stop others from enduring the kind of pain that Michael endured. And, it is a way for them to help prevent other families from experiencing the unbearable grief of unnecessarily losing a loved one.
Michael would have been 25 years old on March 27, 2017. To honor his birthday, the Guz’s have established an endowment that will provide a permanent legacy for Michael and ensure ongoing support of the innovative bipolar research at the University of Michigan, specifically of the Prechter Fund’s stem cell program, which is doing groundbreaking research.
Please consider joining Brian and Liz to carry forward Michael’s memory and honor the 25th anniversary of his birth by making a gift in Michael’s memory. Gifts in Michael’s memory will be applied to the Endowed Bipolar Research Fund.
